L’Observatoire de l’Espace
The Space adventure was one of the vectors of major 20th-century cultural transformations and the Space dream, a powerful driver for fuelling Man’s desire for change. Since its foundation in 2000, the CNES* cultural laboratory Observatoire de l’Espace is where new relations between Space and Culture are developed.
Working with museums, art schools, archives and, now, Switch (on Paper), Observatoire de l’Espace launches cultural projects on the boundary between the Arts and Sciences, offering the public an opportunity to discover them through several events open to the public.
About Cosmic Studio
This monthly event invites the public to a temporary radio set at CNES (Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales, the French space agency) headquarters in Paris to attend a discussion between the poet and radio personality David Christoffel and authors and artists contributing to the Observatoire de l’Espace creative journal Espace(s). Studio Cosmique podcasts, coproduced and broadcast by Switch (on Paper), are intended to form a collection attesting to the anthropological dimension of the Space adventure and its place in reflections on the future of humanity. This further contributes to the production of the journal’s interviews, columns and investigations to explore fruitful relations between Art and Society.
