Hélène Guenin was appointed director of Nice’s MAMAC in the spring of 2016. She was head of the Centre Pompidou-Metz’s programming division from 2008 to 2016 and assistant director of the 49 Nord 6 Est – Frac Lorraine from 2002 to 2008. She supports a multi-disciplinary approach to programming with a focus on performance art and the performing arts. She has curated a number of exhibitions, namely retrospective shows for Tania Mouraud; Gustav Metzger; Liz Magor; À propos de Nice. 1947-1977 and Cosmogonies, au gré des éléments; Sublime. Les tremblements du monde; A museum created with Francesco Manacorda, Peter Gorschlueter and Alexandra Müller.
Artist Irene Kopelman and scientists at the marine station IMEV (Institut de la Mer de Villefranche) and IRCAN (Institute for Research on Cancer and Aging), in Nice (France) are developing a project that highlights crucial organisms in the chain of life and evolution, shedding precious light on this marine world, a true mirror of today’s ecological and health challenges.
