The Author : Sylvie Coëllier


Sylvie Coëllier is professor emeritus in history of contemporary art at the University of Aix-Marseille. Member of the Laboratory of Studies in Arts Sciences, she directs the ARTS collection at Presses Universitaires de Provence. She is the author and co-director of several books, articles and catalogs on the crossover between artistic practices, themes involving sculpture, body, performance, and the theoretical aspects that accompany them. She published Lygia Clark (The Envelope). The End of Modernity and the Desire for Contact, Collection “History and Ideas of the Arts”, Paris, L’Harmattan, 2003, and directed in particular Emotions in the Arts Today (PUP, Collection 1, 2015), and The performance, encore (PUP, ARTS Coll., 2016).
