Maurice Fréchuret

Biography
Maurice Fréchuret is an art historian and head heritage officer. Holds doctorates in sociology and art history. Curator at the Musée d’Art Moderne de Saint-Étienne from 1986 to 1993, then at the Musée National Picasso in Antibes from 1993 to 2001. He was also the director of the CAPC Musée d’Art Contemporain de Bordeaux from 2001 to 2006, and then curator at the National Museums of the 20th Century in Alpes-Maritimes (2006-2014). He has organized numerous exhibitions throughout his career and published in many catalogues. He is also the author of: Effacer, paradoxe d’un geste artistique (Presses du réel, Paris, 2016), Prix Pierre Daix, 2016. Exils, (in collaboration with Laurence Bertrand-Dorléac) (RMN, Paris, 2012).
