Theoretician and poet Kenneth Goldsmith is a unique character. The publisher Éditions Jean Boîte has just dedicated a publication to him: L’écriture sans écriture – du langage à l’âge numérique. Following the conceptual art model, he writes his texts using new forms of exhibition and distribution, reflecting on the new possibilities opened up by digital technology and the Internet, and on the radical ways they’ve transformed our relationship to literature.

He is one of the champions of “post-Internet poetry”, a practice that uses search engines or blogs, sourcing raw material from the cornucopia of the Web. But above all, his most important work is Ubuweb, a platform unlike any other in the world that compiles the most experimental sound and video works of the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. A gold mine.
